Why I am A Business Banker
Two generations ago in Bogota, (Colombia) South America, there lived a man by the name of Danilo; a banker who, through his love of profession, expertise in finance, and dedication to others, helped many in his community which in turn helped build the community itself.
This gentleman was my grandfather, my abuelo; the man who instilled in me the qualities he himself possessed. My grandfather impressed upon me that by being a banker one had the opportunity to become an important part of entrepreneurs’ lives; essentially a silent business partner that could, in a manner of speaking, help change the world, one person and business at a time. As impressed with him as I was and still am, I decided to blaze my own trail and apply to the college of pharmacy, where I was invited to attend and immediately accepted.
Here’s where it gets interesting…
During my summer break I went to work for a mortgage company. The satisfaction I received by helping people attain mortgages to purchase houses was akin to nothing I had ever before experienced. I immediately felt at home in the world of finance and banking.
